079 | bell crickets |
POPPY: | It's pleasantly cool in the evening. We can hear the singing of the crickets from the yard. Very tasteful! |
TARZAN: | That rrring rrring sound? How do the crickets look like? |
BRAVE: | I hear that they look like cockroaches. Anyway, such a big chorus means there should be quite many crickets in the yard. |
TARZAN: | Quite many? About ten? |
BRAVE: | No, about one thousand, I guess. By the way, you don't know the figures higher than ten yet? |
TARZAN: | Yes, I learned to twenty yesterday. |

080 | When winter comes.... |
TARZAN: | These days I feel the day gets shorter, on the other hand, the night longer. |
BRAVE: | Good point! You're right. From now on, the day will become shorter and shorter, while the night will become longer and longer. At last in winter, we have only nights! |
TARZAN: | Only dark nights for 24 hours? So, what shall we do in winter? |
BRAVE: | You know the word "hibernation"? We do nothing but sleep. |
TARZAN: | I've heard it! On TV I saw one bear sleeping all the winter. |
BRAVE: | Exactly! So, we eat as much as we can before the hibernation. |
TARZAN: | Really?! Great! .....But strange...., I forgot sleeping all the winter last year...... |
BRAVE: | 'Cause you slept the whole winter. |

081 | terror attacks |
TARZAN: | Brave, watching movie? |
BRAVE: | No, not a movie, but a newscast. Unfortunately, this horrifying thing really occurred in the US. Terrorists hijacked four planes and they crashed into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. |
TARZAN: | Oh, my gosh!..... It's like a nightmare. |
POPPY: | Oh, no! Can't believe it. Our family and friends in the US are all okay? |
BRAVE: | Probably. They live in California. |
POPPY: | Mayor says that the numbers of the victims will be very high! |
BRAVE: | Can't be worse.... Let's pray all the souls may rest in peace. |

082 | Shawshank Operation |
POPPY: | Brave, you made the new century's first escape last week? How could you do that? Sis always keeps us under close guard. |
BRAVE: | Did you see the movie, "Shawshank Redemption"? In it, the guy called Andy steadily made a hole in the wall. I applied it. I removed the net little by little from the screen door day by day so as not to be noticed by anybody. I named it "Shawshank Operation." |
POPPY: | Hmmm..... But you got caught so soon for its wonderful name. |
BRAVE: | Yeah. That guy in the movie had a place to go, but no places for me. I was just on the roof. I don't have a passport even if I want to go back to America. |
TARZAN: | Also, you have no money. |
BRAVE: | Right. |

083 | same group |
BRAVE: | I hear that we Bengals love to play in the water! You know that? |
POPPY: | Dunno..... I'm not interest in it at all. I hate shampoo, too. |
TARZAN: | I don't like playing in the water, either. Well then, now you said, "we Bengals", what's "Bengals"? We're cats, right? |
POPPY: | What on earth are you saying? Idiot! We are Bengals, one of many cat breeds! |
TARZAN: | Really?! Cats have still more breeds? Then, then, you mean that Brave and I are in the same smaller group? ...I, I never expected it..... |
BRAVE: | Hey, what do you mean it? |
